Honestly I was bracing for a finicky install, but the connector clicked in and the readings stabilized within a minute. Now my floor stand's display is back to showing accurate numbers again.

The replacement sensor snapped in perfectly and synced with the base immediately, no fiddling required. Humidity readings match my standalone thermometer almost exactly, so I’m confident the data is accurate again.
